Brigham City Community Hospital, Inc. is seeking a friendly Unit Secretary to support a busy hospital unit. You will greet patients and families, maintain accurate patient records, enter physician orders, and ensure clear, compassionate communication to keep the unit running smoothly.

This part-time role offers mixed shifts totaling 25 hours per week. You will work in a collaborative team that values respect, privacy, and reliability, with opportunities to grow through strong computer skills,

Qualifications

• BLS or BCLS certification is required.
• Medical office experience is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and guide patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
• Maintain patient records accurately and enter physician orders.
• Handle communications between calls and care team promptly.
• Keep the environment clean, organized and stocked for safety and comfort.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Unit Secretary, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care every day. You will create a welcoming, organized space where patients and families feel valued and informed. You will use clear, compassionate communication and attention to detail to keep the unit running smoothly and caring for others like family – one shift at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported
• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

What qualifications you will need:

• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
• Medical office experience preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
