Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech - ICU- Full Time - Nights

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and a Registered Nurse, the ICU Secretary/Monitor Tech performs patient care and clerical activities according to hospital policies, the hospital mission, and Nursing Department philosophy.

The role includes clerical support such as greeting visitors, answering phones, maintaining communication with physicians and departments, updating computer data, managing supplies, handling patient charts, and providing EKG monitoring for ICU patients.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Work Experience

Experience in acute, sub-acute, or long-term care preferred. Monitor Tech experience is also preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

EKG Monitoring exam within 6 months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of EKG monitoring, clerical skills, and computer proficiency preferred.

Work Schedule

Rotational shifts, holidays, and alternate weekends; possible on-call duties. Schedule may change based on patient needs and census, including rotating days off during low census periods.
