Job Summary

Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area. Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, answering phones, filing, mail distribution, and other clerical tasks. Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol. Types reports and documents, assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and maintains patient charts. Executes unit-specific clerical functions like timekeeping, reporting, and recording meeting minutes. Obtains necessary items for patient care and assists with patient throughput. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1-2 years of secretarial/clerical experience required
  • Previous healthcare or medical secretary experience preferred
  • Proficiency in PC skills and knowledge of medical terminology required
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills
