JOB SUMMARY: Supports the unit by performing clerical duties such as secretarial and receptionist activities. Provides indirect patient care following physician and nursing orders to ensure high standards of age/developmentally appropriate care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a unit secretary course or equivalent experience preferred. Clerical experience is also preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Skills/Qualifications: Basic computer skills, strong communication skills, ability to handle workload changes, and develop transcription skills.
Work Environment: Interaction with staff and patients, possible exposure to infections, chemicals, and irregular hours, with periods on the computer and potential interruptions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and perform dexterity tasks; talk, hear, see; lift up to 20 lbs., 50 lbs., and 100 lbs. as specified.
