Unit Secretary II, Family Birthing Center (Maternity)

Position Overview: Performs clerical support duties to assist nursing staff, maintains patient records, transcribes physician orders, and handles patient registration and reception tasks. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Public Notary status required within one month of hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and direct patients, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Prepare and maintain medical records, schedule procedures, transcribe orders, and respond to patient requests.
  • Complete patient registration accurately, obtain signatures, and facilitate the Voluntary Paternity Program.
  • Order supplies, enter charges, and perform other unit operations.
