GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision of a Nurse Manager, the Unit Secretary performs duties including maintaining records, providing information, and assisting nursing staff to ensure efficient operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Transcription: Accurately transcribes physician orders, maintains patient care Kardex, and updates MAR forms. Enters and coordinates computer data for patients.
  2. Communication / Coordination: Coordinates with hospital departments, manages communication, answers calls, and directs visitors. Initiates emergency protocols as needed.
  3. Chart / Record Maintenance: Maintains and updates patient charts, manages transfer and discharge documentation.
  4. Unit Management Assistance: Ensures supplies and equipment are stocked, manages requisitions, troubleshoots computer issues, and maintains a tidy work area.
  5. Orientation: Assists with onboarding new employees and performs other duties as required.

Hours: 7am-3:30pm, every other weekend and holiday.

Onboarding: Candidates must pass background check and health screening, including drug testing.
