Job summary

Genesis in Gardendale, AL seeks an experienced Unit Manager/Director - RN to support the Director of Nursing in delivering high-quality care within an assigned unit. The role focuses on directing nursing operations, ensuring compliance with standards, and coordinating with physicians and therapists to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure and strong leadership skills.

• Must be graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct the overall operations, coordination and direction of nursing and patient/resident care for an assigned nursing unit.
• Ensure patient/resident care delivery complies with mission, policies, standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians and therapists to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage human resources in the unit, including staffing, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

As a Unit Manager/Director - RN where within an assigned unit you will support the Director of Nursing with the delivery of high quality care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/resident, family and employee satisfaction.

• Lead, guide and direct the overall operations, coordination and direction of nursing and patient/resident care for an assigned nursing unit.
• Ensure that patient/resident care delivery is consistent with the mission, vision, values and company policies in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, rehabilitation therapy and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients on assigned nursing unit.
• Manage the human resources in assigned unit to include limiting use of overtime and agency personnel, recruiting and orientating staff, assessing the work performance of nursing staff, and implementing disciplinary action when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college or university.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing is required.
