Job description

General Summary:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Development Educators, the nurse will plan, implement, and evaluate educational and quality improvement activities on the nursing unit. The role models excellence in patient care through clinical practice, continuous quality improvement, and integration of new nursing knowledge into practice. Adheres to all standards of nursing care and standards within the job description.

Unit Overview:

The 6^th floor is a 48-bed Medical Surgical Unit. The nurses on this unit are multi-faceted and support patients through many phases of care. Patients are often treated for various diseases, conditions, and injuries, including post-surgical care, acute infectious diseases with intravenous antibiotic treatment, chronic conditions experiencing exacerbation, and end-of-life support. Our staff is friendly, welcoming, and supportive.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current Michigan RN licensure required.
• Equivalent of four years of clinical experience with the defined patient population preferred.
