Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Behavioral Health unit at the Main Campus in Columbus, OH. This night-shift position (11:00pm–7:30am) is part-time, with 0.6 to 0.8 FTE, and every other weekend required.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient charts and records are current, operating communications systems, assisting with patient admissions and transfers, maintaining supplies, and coordinating med transport.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an approved unit coordinator or clerk course preferred.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification required.
• Previous health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains patient charts and medical records.
• Operates telephone, paging system, pneumatic tube, and other communication devices.
• Assists with greeting, admission, registration, transfer, transport, and discharge of patients.
• Maintains unit and office supplies; orders and stocks as needed.
• Acts as a preceptor for orientation and training of other Unit Coordinator staff.
• Coordinates transport of non-controlled medications from Pharmacy to designated practitioners or storage.
• Initiates Code Blue/Medical Assist/ACT in emergencies and communicates information to staff.

## Unit Coordinator - Behavioral Health (BH8B)- Night ShiftApply: Main Campus, Columbus, OH: Part time: Posted Today: R-28428**Overview:****Hours: 11:00pm- 7:30am****FTE: 0.6- 24 hours/week, or 0.8 - 32 hours/week****- Every other weekend required****Rate: Starts at $19.10/hour with potential for higher pay based on relevant exp., plus $2.30 shift differential for nights and $1.80 for weekends.****- Expected to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as needed at the direction of leadership.****Job Description Summary:**Performs secretarial and environmental activities using current technology under the direction and supervision of RN.**Job Description:****Essential Functions:*** Monitors and maintains patient charts and medical records.* Operates communication systems including but not limited to telephone, paging system, pneumatic tube, and other advanced communication technology devices.* Assists with greeting, admission, registration, transfer, transport, and/or discharge of patients as assigned.* Maintains unit and office supplies, ordering and stocking as needed.
