Job Description:

I. PURPOSE OF JOB :

Provides clerical services to each Nursing Department to maintain efficient operation. Acts as a resource to the Nursing Department as well as other departments throughout the organization to maintain and troubleshoot office equipment. Serves as a liaison between internal and external customers, including management, clinical and administrative staff, education, patient access, registration, physicians, patients, families, volunteers, and visitors.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  1. Demonstrates technical skills in computer data entry, maintaining patient charts, transcribing orders, filing, and proper documentation.
  2. Uses effective communication skills with physicians, nurses, patients, families, volunteers, and healthcare team members to ensure excellent patient care.
  3. Promotes patient safety by adhering to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines, and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
  4. Participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.
  5. Maintains competency according to unit-specific standards.
Job Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED completion.

Experience: Varies based on department and position.

Other Skills: Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills, basic understanding of computer functionality, medical terminology (helpful but not required).

Work Schedule: Week 1: Monday 7-11 pm, Friday 7-11 pm, Saturday; Weekend and holiday commitment: 7 pm-11 pm.
