Job summary

• Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff.
• Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff.
• Retrieves all lab results and brings to the attention of the Charge Nurse.
• Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to patient's needs.
• Enters and verifies orders in the computer system.
• Documents the time orders were placed in the computer on Emergency Department Record.

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• BLS certification
• Basic computer knowledge
• Able to effectively communicate in English (both verbally and in writing)
