Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Alpena, MI is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist the RN in PCU/Med Surg/ICU with daily living activities, medication delivery, and chart updates. You will help maintain supplies and act as unit receptionist, supporting a patient-centered care environment.

Required: High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and CNA/EMT/LPN pathways or equivalent experience. Prior patient care preferred; strong teamwork and communication are essential for this on-site role.

Qualifications

• Previous direct patient care experience preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification preferred or required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains adequate levels of supplies in patient servers and closets each shift.
• Assists in obtaining supplies/equipment from other departments as needed.
• Distributes water to patients and keeps nursing stations organized.
• Notifies RN of patient concerns and updates orders in EMR or by phone.
• Acts as unit receptionist and provides directions to patients and visitors.
• Transcribes physician orders to Kardex and EMR accurately.
• Assists with setup for non-scheduled procedures and monitoring devices.
