Job summary

Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg is seeking a full-time Unit Assistant for the 7:00am-3:00pm shift, at $17.30 per hour. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.

As a unit assistant, you will support the care team under the Charge Nurse, perform duties such as answering call lights, delivering trays, and transporting residents to help free staff to provide direct resident care. This role requires good multitasking, physical stamina, and a compassionate approach to residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift heavy items and walk repeatedly throughout shift.
• Must complete unit assistant training at the facility upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Answer call lights and obtain assistance as needed.
• Make beds, distribute snacks, fill water pitchers, and pass trays.
• Maintain cleanliness of the nursing unit, kitchenette, and refrigerator.
• Sort and distribute clothing.
• Transport residents.

Westmoreland Manor is seeking motivated, energetic individuals to join our team as a full-time Unit Assistant for the 7:00am-3:00pm shift at the rate of $17.30 per hour! Rotating weekends and holidays are required for this position.

As a unit assistant with us, you will be part of a large, dedicated staff devoted to caring for our residents. We are seeking applicants who are able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate great multi-tasking capabilities!

The purpose of this position is assist in the care of residents, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, by assisting unit staff and enabling staff additional time for direct resident care.

Job duties include but are not exclusive or all-inclusive:

• Answering call lights and obtaining assistance as needed
• Making unoccupied beds, distributing snacks, filling water pitchers, and passing trays
• Maintaining nursing unit area, kitchenette, and refrigerator cleanliness and neatness
• Sorting and distributing clothing
• Transporting residents

Qualified Applicants must possess:

• High school graduate or equivalency and successful completion of the pre-employment screening process
• Ability to do heavy lifting and walking throughout the facility
• Ability to push, pull and bend
• Must successfully complete unit assistant training at facility upon hire
