Job Overview

Defense Technology Integration, LLC is looking to bring in Unisys OS 2200 Database Administrator resources. The general support requirements include providing DBA support for OS 2200 DMS databases, responding to requests for information and support, monitoring database area space usage on the Production systems, and other related duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide Unisys database administration, design, and development support in a diverse, fast‑paced, & growing environment.
• Collaborate with development teams to modify and tune database access interfaces and analyze database performance.
• Support the operations and maintenance of non‑production databases and provide secondary support to production database support personnel.
• Monitor database area space usage on Production systems and respond to user requests for information and support.
• Employ technologies to support applications development and routine maintenance of Unisys databases: DDL, SDDL, UREP, etc.
• Work with management to develop database strategies, consult and advise users on database usage.
• Troubleshoot problems and design solutions for operational and performance issues.
• Answer questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization, and usage of database‑related software products.
• Apply diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.
• Provide alerts and status information to the customer management team.
• Coordinate critical issues, new product and system implementations.
• Monitor performance and ensure completion of operational processes including incident resolution and root‑cause analysis.
• Prepare, approve, and coordinate implementation of technical documentation, ensuring it is current, accurate, and complete.
• Identify, develop, and conduct training needs for others as appropriate.
• Participate in or lead defined project activities and initiate process improvements.
• Provide on‑call support when required.
• Perform system/application and database monitoring, alerting, and database performance tuning.
• Assist developers in using data to support customer interests, including data cleanup, conversions, script execution, version synchronization, and database upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent education.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of Unisys DBA experience on an OS 2200 platform.
• 15 years of Unisys DBA experience on an OS 2200 platform in lieu of a degree.
• Client‑focused, effective team member with strong interpersonal skills.

Required Skills

• Experience as a DBA on Unisys OS 2200 primarily for the Database Management System (DMS 2200) and also for the Relational Database Management System (RDMS 2200).
• Knowledge of computer programming, database design, and applicable tools.
• Experience with Unisys COBOL, both ACOB and UCOB.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge and experience with Meta‑Assembler (MASM), Symbolic Stream Generator (SSG), Access Location Number (ALN), CMplus.
