Parking Lot Painting Company (PLP Co.) in Bethel Park, PA, seeks a Union Pavement Marking & Heavy Highway Equipment Operator to join our field operations team. You’ll dispatch from Bethel Park and work on municipal, PennDOT, and federal highway projects across Greater Pittsburgh.

This high-impact union role requires operating specialized marking gear, maintaining roadways, and coordinating traffic control. Expect night/weekend shifts, overtime, and strong career growth with a union contractor.

Qualifications

• Active member of Laborers Local Union or willingness to join upon hire.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate heavy highway vehicles and high-pressure fluid systems.
• Valid Driver License with a clean, insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work outdoor in day/night shifts.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain roadway marking machinery (thermoplastic trucks, epoxy trucks, water blasters, grooving/grinding rigs).
• Measure, lay out, and apply pavement markings per engineered plans and PennDOT specs.
• Perform MOT duties including flagging and mobile lane closures.
• Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance.
• Load and audit epoxy resin, glass beads, and thermoplastic materials.
• Adhere to OSHA, PennDOT, and union safety rules in active work zones.
