Job description

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer. The Building Engineer supports designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems, including maintenance and repair of hard surfaces, basic carpentry and metal work, and operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems. The role also involves responding to customer requests, submitting and closing work orders, and performing other duties as assigned.

The Union One Man Plant Engineer supports designated leadership with daily building system operations, similar to the Building Engineer role.

Shift:

Mon - Fri Day shift 8-4 or 7-3

Pay:

$51.07/hr. The listed pay is an hourly rate or range; actual offers depend on experience, skills, abilities, location, and market data.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and related systems for steam, water, refrigerants, air, and gas distribution.
2. Maintain and repair water filters, softeners, piping, pumps, electrical motors, engines, fuel oil systems, sewer systems, trash compactors, electrical power distribution, and lighting systems.
3. Ensure proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls for energy efficiency.
4. Perform preventive maintenance as per manufacturer specifications.
5. Maintain life/safety and security systems.
6. Perform other duties as requested by Building Management.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Knowledge of HVAC components (VAVs, air-handlers, pumps, etc.).
2. Relevant experience for the Jr. Building Engineer role.
3. Ability to read blueprints.
4. State/local licenses for Stationary Engineer/HVAC and refrigerant recovery (if applicable).
5. Computer skills and experience with building automation systems.
6. OSHA ACM awareness training (as required).
7. EPA 608 Certification (preferred).
