Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Mobile Route Engineer in New Jersey to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, fire and life-safety systems across multiple facilities.

You will review work orders, estimate materials, maintain tools and inventory, ensure code compliance, operate company vehicles, and explain technical information clearly to colleagues while delivering safe, reliable building operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3–4 years of related experience; diploma alternative considered.
• Valid Driver’s License and Universal CFC certification required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+ and meet physical requirements.
• Proficient with PCs and work order systems; good communication.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs of mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems for multiple facilities.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Union Mobile Route Engineer, you’ll be responsible for preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for multiple buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for multiple facilities to keep building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
• Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete the repair, and maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
• Oversee implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
• Review inspections to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
• Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Operate company issued vehicle in execution of daily work responsibilities.
• Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
• Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Vaild Driver’s License and Universal CFC certification required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems. Tact and diplomacy to exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical way.
• Ability to effectively use personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
