About the Role:
As a CBRE Union Mobile Route Engineer, you will support a mobile territory throughout Northeast Illinois, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across multiple sites. This is a field-based role where you'll work independently, managing your daily route and receiving work orders, training, and communication through a company-issued tablet and phone.
The ideal candidate has a strong general maintenance background with hands-on HVAC experience, including troubleshooting and repairs of rooftop units up to 5 tons. We are seeking a self-motivated technician who enjoys working in the field, serving multiple locations, and delivering excellent service in customer-occupied environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems across a multi-site portfolio.
- Respond to service requests and complete work orders using company-issued mobile technology while traveling throughout an assigned territory.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and occupants while delivering high-quality service in occupied banking facilities.
- Oversee maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for multiple facilities to keep building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete the repair, and maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
- Oversee implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
- Review inspections to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Operate company issued vehicle in execution of daily work responsibilities.
- Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
- Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
