Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Union Mobile HVAC Engineer to support healthcare locations across New Jersey. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair building systems, and keep operations running smoothly while minimizing downtime.

The role involves traveling to assigned sites from a home base, operating in a fully equipped CBRE van with gas card, tools, and uniforms provided, and working with minimal office oversight.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of building engineering experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to work orders for building systems.
  • Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Use CMMS (Corrigo) to update work orders in real time.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and management; work independently in the field.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and complete inspections.

Job description

Join CBRE as a Union Mobile HVAC Engineer supporting aleading healthcare provider’s locations across the New Jersey area. In this hands‑on role, you’llkeep buildings running at their best by performing preventive maintenance andresponding to service requests across multiple sites.

Day-to‑day, you’ll operate, inspect, troubleshoot, andrepair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other buildingsystems—helping ensure a safe, comfortable experience for clients and customerswhile minimizing downtime.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders for building systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, complete hazard assessments, and comply with OSHA and local regulations.
  • Use CMMS (e.g., Corrigo) to update work orders and document activities in real time.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and management; work independently in the field.
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles; complete required inspections and documentation.
What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in building engineering (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Additional Requirements
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb, and work in varying conditions.
  • Availability for after‑hours and emergency calls.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union position is $40.28 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale
