Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our equipment fleet. You will work on aerial work platforms, generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and other heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of diesel or specialty equipment experience, and the ability to diagnose faults and use a mechanic’s tool set. This is a full-time on-site role in Moline, IL, with strong safety standards and a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of mechanic experience with diesel or specialty equipment strongly preferred.

Job Summary

Mechanic

Responsibilities

The mechanic/technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment to minimize downtime. Tasks include:

• Perform preventive maintenance on aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil & gas equipment.
• Maintain safety standards and work in fast‑paced environments.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of mechanic experience with diesel or specialty equipment strongly preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to use a mechanic’s tool set.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Spanish or other bilingual ability may be required.

Physical Demands

Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.
