Job summary

LionHeart Critical Power in Indianapolis is seeking a Union Generator Technician to perform preventative maintenance on industrial generators, transfer switches, and fire pump engines while diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Generator Technician.
• Solid hands-on knowledge of engines, motors, and electrical systems.
• Technical degree or certification (preferred but not required).
• Willingness and ability to lift 130 lbs and work long hours as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial generators, transfer switches, and fire pump engines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Communicate directly with clients, chief engineers, and internal teams.
• Coordinate with the field service team and administrative staff.
• Load, unload, and transport heavy tools and equipment (up to 130 lbs).
• Drive and maneuver trailers in varied conditions.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency, after-hours, and weekend service.
• Attend company-paid continuing education and certifications.
• Typical schedule is 40-60 hours per week and includes scheduled weekend work.
