Job summary

The St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission is seeking a Fixed Route Bus Operator to provide safe and friendly fixed route and commuter transportation.

This full-time, union position follows seniority-based bid schedules and requires a valid Class B Minnesota license with passenger and air brake endorsements and a DOT medical certificate. The operator will conduct pre/post-trip inspections, operate a transit bus in traffic, assist riders including those with mobility devices, collect fares,

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of satisfactory driving record.
• Valid Minnesota Class B Driver License with passenger and air brake endorsements and DOT medical certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable fixed route and commuter bus transportation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Operate wheelchair lift and assist passengers with mobility devices.
• Collect fares, stop at bus stops, maintain order, and report delays.
• Write reports and complete paperwork related to incidents and defects.
