Job summary

BrightView is seeking a Union Laborer Foreman to conduct weekly site inspections and lead crews on landscaping/irrigation/site development projects. You will schedule material deliveries, monitor production rates, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with subcontractors to keep work progressing smoothly.

The role requires coordinating with crews, managing safety checks, and maintaining documentation for chemicals and assets while upholding company ethics and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years construction site experience.
• Knowledge of blueprints.
• Ability to lead others and manage crews.
• Able to be certified in first aid.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish).

• Periodically reconcile physical assets to accounting records.

Job Summary

• The BVG Union Laborer Foreman conducts weekly job site inspections and completes job site checklists.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly job site inspections
• Complete job site checklist
• Perform installation of required materials for landscaping/irrigation/site development
• Schedule delivery of materials and equipment
• Responsible for crews production rates, quality control and safety
• Assist in job scheduling and coordination of subcontractors
• Ensure that all employees are attending the weekly tailgate meeting
• Confirm that all employees are operating safely at all times; review potential traffic hazards; perform hard hat checks and safety gear checks, underground alert reviews, other trades hazard reviews, and general public safety checks
• Maintain a hazardous communication folder including all relevant forms for chemicals used on the job site
• Report reckless or dangerous activities to job Superintendent; notify Safety Office of any accidents and submit accident reports according to Company policy
• Safeguard assets from theft and misuse
• Ensure segregation of duties to minimize fraud
• Comply with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulation
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
• Periodically reconcile physical assets to accounting records

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years construction site experience

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Be at least 18 years old (21 if operating company provided vehicles)
• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Able to safely operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers).
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Able to perform manual labor using a variety of hand tools (e.g. shovels, rakes)
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Landscapers who will be operating a BrightView fleet vehicle are required to have a valid driver’s license and meet company standards as it relates motor vehicle performance identified on a state issued motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.
