Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Union Diesel Mechanic apprentice to work under a Leadman or Journeyman. The program leads to becoming a qualified Journeyman Mechanic, with union-based benefits and wage scales.

The role involves general maintenance, supporting senior mechanics, and safety inspections on trucks and equipment. Minimum qualifications include a GED or high school diploma, and 1+ year mechanical experience, with ongoing apprenticeship training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of trade school.
• 1+ year mechanical experience.
• Continuing training appropriate for apprenticeship level.

Responsabilités

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Assist the Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic(s) assigned to.
• Assist in providing technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.
