Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
  • Maintain quality workmanship and Data Center cleanliness.
  • Follow all safety, production, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve project obstacles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and building documentation.
  • Understand Data Center infrastructure technologies broadly.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of telecom hand tools.
  • Customer service understanding.
  • Knowledge of job safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with wiring schemes and testing.
  • Ability to perform 4-pair continuity testing.
  • Experience pulling low voltage cables, including copper telecom cables.
  • Perform copper field terminations and install ladder racking, seismic bracing.
  • Patch network equipment and read port maps/matrices.
  • Understand and interpret job floor plans and TC drawings.
  • Perform field terminations, labeling, and install copper and fiber cabling.
  • Label cabling and power cords, apply bar coding, and install threaded rods, Uni-strut, fiber troughs.
  • Create/test bonding whips, straps, and connections.
  • Operate scanners and understand fiber types (SM/MM/Ribbon).
  • Install and test coax cabling, ISP/OSP cables, and install box eliminators in drywall.
  • Understand and maintain firestopping and cable installation in conduits and ceilings.
  • Install and service network equipment.
