Job summary

IHC Construction Companies LLC in Chicagoland seeks a Union Construction Superintendent to oversee Heavy Civil projects on site in Illinois. You will lead field personnel, ensure schedule, budget and quality, and coordinate subcontractors to meet plans and specs.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, daily reporting, and driving on-time project delivery. Strong leadership and communication are required, with prior superintendent experience preferred.

Qualifications

• prior experience as a Superintendent—5 years preferred
• strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
• excellent knowledge of project drawings and specifications
• familiarity with regulatory construction standards
• ability to lead craft labor and subcontractors to complete projects on time and within budget

• Coordinate subcontractors and construction site organization
• Order material and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process
• Effectively recruit and train new employees
• Prepare daily reports and timecards
