Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors, LLC in Sterling, Virginia is seeking Union Finishers to smooth and finish poured concrete surfaces on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work. The role is part-time and based in our Sterling location.

Compensation is $30.85 per hour. Candidates should have at least two years of concrete construction experience and be union members; OSHA 10 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in concrete construction.
• Union membership required.
• Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
• Have good communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
• Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
• Keep tools and workspace organized.
• Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
• Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
• Must have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.

Responsibilities

• Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.
• Spreads concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
• Levels and shapes concrete, and finishes freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.
• Utilizes required tools to complete required tasks.
• Arranges and constructs concrete forms.
• Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and procedures.
• Assists with related carpentry tasks, as required.
• Ensures quality of work meets company standards.
