Description

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our civil construction team. This position is responsible for placing, finishing, repairing, and completing concrete work on a variety of heavy civil and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on concrete finishing experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable working in an active construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Place, spread, level, and finish concrete using hand and power tools.
• Perform concrete finishing using floats, trowels, screeds, edgers, and other finishing equipment.
• Set and verify forms, elevations, slopes, and grades prior to concrete placement.
• Finish concrete surfaces to required specifications, including smooth, broom, and other specified finishes.
• Construct and finish concrete for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, slabs, foundations, structures, drainage systems, utility work, and other civil construction applications.
• Install and finish concrete around manholes, catch basins, pipe structures, and other site infrastructure.
• Form and finish edges, joints, corners, and transitions.
• Repair damaged or defective concrete surfaces as needed.
• Assist with concrete pours, including directing placement and ensuring proper distribution of concrete.
• Read and follow basic construction drawings, elevations, grades, and project specifications.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Work closely with foremen, operators, laborers, and other crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional construction duties as needed to support the crew.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Concrete Finisher, preferably in heavy civil, site development, utility, roadway, or infrastructure construction.
• Strong knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques.
• Experience working with hand and power finishing tools.
• Ability to understand grades, elevations, slopes, and basic construction measurements.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, and working on uneven terrain.
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to jobsites.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

• Heavy civil construction
• Stormwater and drainage structures
• Pump stations
• Roadway construction
• Curbs and gutters
• Sidewalks and concrete flatwork
• Reading grades and elevations
