Qualifications

Uniformed Security Services (USS) Officer

Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Uniformed Security Services (USS) Officer with an Interim Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance to support KPS and our government customer in Arlington, VA.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Protect personnel, information, property, and business continuity by “detecting, deterring, observing, and reporting.”
  • Control access to and within the building, including safety screening and verifying passes or identification.
  • Escort and observe personnel, with emphasis on foreign nationals, maintenance staff, and those without security clearances in DARPA controlled spaces.
  • Enforce DARPA and DoD security and safety rules.
  • Manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, perform first aid, CPR, AED, and evaluate responses periodically.
  • Observe and report suspicious or unsafe activities or individuals, taking protective actions as necessary.
  • Check and report on equipment, security containers, doors, and environmental conditions, taking corrective actions when possible.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, including performing periodic evaluations of responses.
  • Support DARPA’s COOP and Pandemic Plan as required.
  • Call emergency services when necessary and guide responders to incidents.
  • Maintain detailed notes and reports of activities and incidents.
  • Report activities and incidents promptly to the Government.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to provide clear, concise reports verbally and in writing.
  • Administer safety screenings.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Walk stairs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Detect security violations using senses and equipment.
  • Work any shift, including holidays.
  • Complete required training successfully.
  • Travel within the U.S. as needed.
  • At least one year of similar security experience in a DoD environment.
  • Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret, SAP, and SCI access.
  • High school diploma.
  • Complete training in preventing disease transmission, first aid, CPR, AED, HAZMAT awareness, and operate X-Ray and Magnetometer devices.
  • Licensed as an Unarmed Security Officer in Virginia.
  • Good health and physical ability to perform duties.

Additional requirements for DARPA work:

  • Flexible schedule and ability to travel.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Accurate record-keeping and report writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain calm in emergencies.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
