Navy Exchange Oceana Fabric Worker position in Virginia Beach is responsible for alterations, repairs, and the handling of military insignia on uniforms and civilian garments. The role may involve laundering or dry cleaning tasks as part of processing customer items.

Applicants should have at least one year of garment alteration experience and be comfortable operating a sewing machine, measuring for fit, and maintaining a clean work area. Customer service and accuracy are essential.

Qualificações

• One year of general experience in clothing modification, alterations and repair.
• Specialized experience using a sewing machine for alterations and repairs.
• High school education may substitute for up to 3 months of general experience.

Responsabilidades

• Make alterations and repairs to uniforms and civilian garments (pinning, trimming, lengthening, shortening sleeves and pants).
• Take body measurements to ensure proper garment fit.
• Affix medals, ribbons, badges, devices, and ratings as requested.
• Operate sewing machine and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Process laundry and dry cleaning tickets and manage pickup tickets.
• Operate a cash register and handle cash fund; prepare cash reports.
• Requisition and maintain stock; assist with inventory.
• Provide courteous service to customers.
