Job summary

Navy Exchange Bremerton is seeking a part-time Tailor/Fabric Worker to support the local Naval community. Responsibilities include operating a sewing machine, performing garment alterations, and mending clothing with attention to detail.

The role requires at least one year of relevant experience; training and benefits are provided. Work is performed on-site in Bremerton, WA, serving military personnel and civilians.

Qualifications

• One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge and skill to carry out basic modifications, alterations and repair of clothing.
• One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
• One year of experience with the use of a sewing machine to perform alterations and repairs to garments.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sewing machine for garment alterations and repairs.
• Perform simple alterations such as pinning, basting, and hemming.
• Affix medals, ribbons, badges and, at times, operate a register.
