Job summary

Angola Middle School in the MSD of Steuben County is seeking a Unified Arts teacher to provide engaging, exploratory learning through electives in FACS and Engineering/Technology. The teacher may also instruct at Angola High School, joining a dedicated Unified Arts team.

The successful candidate will deliver hands-on, project-based experiences, align with Indiana standards, and promote student growth in a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
• Preferred licensure in Family and Consumer Science or Engineering and Technology.
• Ability to teach multiple exploratory elective courses.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging exploratory Unified Arts courses aligned with Indiana standards.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and student engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs of middle school students.
• Foster positive relationships with students while promoting responsibility and teamwork.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning.
• Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
• Collaborate with fellow Unified Arts teachers, grade-level teams, and administrators to support student success.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents and guardians.
• Participate in professional learning, school improvement initiatives, and school events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

UNIFIED ARTS TEACHER | CERTIFIED

Angola Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered educator to join our Unified Arts team. This position provides engaging exploratory learning experiences through 9-week and semester-long elective courses in one or more of the following content areas:

• Family and Consumer Science (FACS)
• Engineering and Technology

The successful candidate will inspire middle school students to explore new interests, develop practical life and career skills, and discover potential future pathways through hands-on, project-based learning in a positive and engaging classroom environment. This teacher may also teach one or two classes at Angola High School.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and deliver engaging, exploratory courses aligned with the Indiana Academic Standards and the district curriculum.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and student engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of middle school students.
• Foster positive relationships with students while promoting responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning.
• Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback.

• Completion of Safe Hiring Solutions' expanded background check, including the Department of Child Services index.

COMPENSATION

• Rate of Pay: To be determined based on experience according to the Master Contract
• Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Benefit-eligible position
• Indiana Teacher Retirement Fund Contribution-eligible position (Pension)
