Job summary

Jobtailor in Sacramento is seeking an experienced underwriting supervisor to lead a team of assistants and ensure accurate policy processing. You will mentor staff, manage workflows, and escalate complex underwriting matters to support partners and agents.

The role requires extensive insurance industry experience, supervisory capabilities, and a strong grasp of underwriting operations. Candidates with Workers' Compensation experience and relevant certifications are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of insurance industry experience required.
• At least 3 years of underwriting support, underwriting operations, or related role required.
• Workers' Compensation insurance experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of lead, supervisory, or people leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting support operations, policy administration, and account management practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop a motivated team of Underwriting Assistants.
• Ensure accurate and timely policy processing and underwriting support activities.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of work for the unit.
• Provide technical coaching regarding policy forms and underwriting requirements.
• Develop and lead a cohesive team that promotes exceptional customer service.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for agents, brokers, and internal partners regarding underwriting support.
