Job summary

A leading insurance provider in Fairfield, Ohio, is seeking an underwriting assistant team lead. Responsibilities include coaching and training a team of underwriting assistants, ensuring standards in territory management and enhancing training needs. A bachelor’s degree is preferred along with good communication skills. Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• AINS certification preferred (completion required within three years of start date).
• Knowledge of commercial insurance rating’s process is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train underwriting assistants to ensure standards are met.
• Communicate information regarding policies to support underwriting.
• Monitor underwriting assistant training needs.
• Assist with career development of direct reports.
• Work interdepartmentally on various tasks and projects.

Skills

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Ability to prioritize and organize work

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Strong attention to detail

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

AINS certification preferred
