Job summary

Greater New York Insurance Companies in Edison, New Jersey is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support underwriters with new and renewal accounts, file setup, document collection, and data entry in ImageRight and WINS.

You will review applications, provide professional service to agents, run risk analysis reports, assist with rate and issue duties, and help with data needed for policy issuance and servicing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associates degree preferred.
• Some administrative experience required; underwriting assistant experience preferred.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet.
• Experience with AS/400 and/or ImageRight and Guidewire preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Set up underwriting files and applications, obtain documents, update systems.
• Review applications for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide timely, professional service to agents for processing.
• Run risk analysis reports (motor vehicle, loss history, credit checks, ISO, etc.).
• Track inspection requirements and recommendations.
• Rate and issue new/renewal policies and endorsements.
• Prepare quotations, binders or policies as directed by underwriters.
• Communicate data needs across all levels for policy issuance and servicing.
