Job summary

PURE Insurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter in Scottsdale, AZ to profitably grow a book of business in partnership with agents and colleagues. You will plan and budget the book, develop agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions.

With 5+ years in underwriting, especially high net worth, you will own your portfolio, communicate with empathy, and obtain required licenses within 45–60 days. Base salary ranges with merit increases and bonuses.

About the Role

The Senior Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with Agents and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. This person will plan and budget for the book of business, develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions.

What You'll Do

• Business Management: Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition.
• Broker Partnership: Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members.
• Underwriting Execution: Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.

What You'll Need

• You have at least 5 years of experience underwriting, preferably in the high net worth space and you are comfortable owning a book of business.
• Direct, empathetic communication is a staple in every aspect of your day, and you thrive on building connections with people.
• Current P&C and E&S broker licenses preferred, must obtain within first 45 and 60 days of hire respectively if you don’t already possess them.
• You know how to gather and analyze all the data you’ll need to make a decision on a risk.
• You work with pride and determination.

Compensation Package

The base salary for this role can range from $100K - $140K, based on a full-time work schedule.

• Individual’s ultimate title and compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
• You will also be eligible for annual merit-based increases and discretionary bonuses.
