Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Intern in Chicago, IL, to gain hands-on experience with our underwriting teams. You will work alongside experienced underwriters on real projects and learn about risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting strategy.

This paid internship, in-office, reports to the Sr. Underwriter. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (risk, business, or related field) and are ready to apply concepts in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with underwriters to review insurance submissions and understand what makes a risk a good fit.
• Learn fundamentals of risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting strategy through real examples and team discussions.
• Help organize underwriting information, update records, and keep key details accurate and accessible.
• Research industry trends, emerging risks, and market insights, then summarize findings for the team.
• Contribute to team projects, meetings, and day-to-day coordination while building professional confidence.
