Job summary

CVS Health is offering a 10.5-week Underwriting Corporate Internship in Hartford, CT, starting May 24, 2027 and ending August 5, 2027. The role is hybrid with in-office days Tue–Thu and remote days the other two days.

The program provides mentorship, leadership development opportunities, and a path to future full-time roles in underwriting and healthcare strategy. Interns gain hands-on experience and exposure to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with anticipated graduation between Sep 2027 and Aug 2028.
• Willing to commute or relocate to the Hartford, CT office.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Price new and existing business with the goal of selling and retaining profitable customers.
• Act as a strategic partner to support overall management of your book of business.
• Negotiate pricing, create benefit plan designs and cross-sell additional products/programs.
• Collaborate with actuarial to refine pricing based on changes in future medical costs, trends and data.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities, including trainings, networking, and mentorship.
• Develop learning agility, collaboration, and leadership potential through underwriting work.
