Job summary

Highmark Inc. offers a Summer 2027 Undergraduate Internship in Underwriting to provide hands-on experience in underwriting operations, pricing analysis, and financial evaluation within a healthcare environment.

As part of the Labor & Education Underwriting Team, you will support both new business and renewal underwriting activities, gaining insight into how underwriting decisions impact growth, profitability, and customer retention while contributing to analytics projects under mentorship.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pricing and risk evaluation for new and renewal business.
• Support client reporting activities and data analysis.
• Participate in projects to improve underwriting tools and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
• Provide mentorship-driven professional development opportunities and gain underwriting experience.
• Engage in research and reporting with recommendations for action.
