Core Specialty Insurance invites you to join a 12-week summer internship where you will gain real-life exposure and be treated as a valued team member. You will work alongside underwriters and senior leaders, with opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Our interns experience meaningful projects, receive competitive pay, and participate in sessions with executives and mentors to develop professional skills in risk management and insurance.

Qualifications

• Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform within set timeframes to ensure appropriate response time and customer service for broker partners.
• Assist underwriters with pre-qualifying accounts submitted by broker partners.
• Prepare accounts to be modelled in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and timely status of accounts within systems throughout the underwriting life cycle.
• Attend speaker sessions, training sessions and other program meetings that will contribute to program projects and continued education of E&S Property.

Key Accountabilities / Deliverables

Technical Knowledge and Understanding

• Computer skills – good working knowledge of MS Office, Excel.
• Ability to simplify, analyze and explain complex issues.
• Basic Understanding of Power BI and Adobe.
• Background in Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) is preferred.
• Ability to work at both an overview and detailed level.
• Ability to manage time and projects effectively.

Experience
