About The Role

The underwriting organization focuses on delivering a top-tier customer experience by assessing medical and financial risks for life insurance applications. The Director, Life Underwriting will evaluate complex applications, ensure accurate risk assessment, and support sales efforts, requiring excellent communication, customer focus, and accountability.

Responsibilities

1. Underwrite complex applications independently within approval guidelines.
2. Analyze and interpret detailed medical and financial information.
3. Manage change, resolve conflicts, and negotiate effectively.
4. Understand work process impacts across functions.
5. Manage a large caseload efficiently.
6. Demonstrate advanced underwriting expertise.
7. Provide training on underwriting topics.
8. Interact effectively with sophisticated clients and field teams.

Skills And Qualifications

1. Experience with brokerage distribution.
2. 10+ years in life underwriting, handling large cases.
3. Approval authority up to $10 million.
4. Designations such as FLMI, FALU, or CLU preferred or in progress.

This role is currently remote.
