Job Description

The Underwriting Assistant supports the Transportation and Specialty Automobile team by ensuring accurate processing of underwriting transactions and policy management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Quote Support:
   • Validate data entry in underwriting systems (auto and general liability classifications, loss schedules).
   • Verify documentation for coverage and limits.
   • Communicate with producers to obtain necessary information.
2. Post-Bind Transaction Management:
   • Draft and verify policy documents.
   • Approve policy drafts within authority; escalate as needed.
   • Book premiums and confirm postings.
   • Issue policies and report data to third parties.
   • Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
3. Team Collaboration & Process Improvement:
   • Collaborate with departments to resolve policy questions.
   • Participate in system testing and projects.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Auto Insurance rate & rule application.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet technology.

Additional Information
