Job summary

Amerisure Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications, financial records, and other documents. The role is hybrid—3 days in the local office and 2 from home—with Farmington Hills, MI as a possible location.

Responsibilities include data collection, file organization, compliance coordination with agencies, and assisting with risk assessments and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, financial services, customer service or administration preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to input data with a high accuracy rating, and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally, less than 5%.

  • Recognize discrepancies or missing information in applications and take steps to address and resolve the issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of data.
  • Assist the underwriting team with administrative duties, including document organization and report preparation.
  • Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures.

Amerisure is recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant to join our team! This role will be hybrid 3 days a week in the local office & 2 from home. Office locations include Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Farmington Hills MI, Indianapolis IN, Phoenix AZ, St. Louis MO or Tampa FL.
POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for supporting the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications, financial records, and other supporting documents. A high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure accurate underwriting decisions are made.
