Zeyron is seeking an experienced Underwriter/Portfolio Officer in California to negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate closings of commercial loans while maintaining strong customer relationships and cross-selling bank services.
The role emphasizes financial analysis, credit write-ups, and collaboration with loan originators to support business growth and CRA objectives.
Responsibilities:
Underwrite new loan requests and cultivate new customer relationships to support business growth.
Assess and service the credit needs of both existing and prospective clients.
Conduct financial and credit analyses, including validation of collateral valuations, to support lending decisions.
Collaborate with Loan Originators and Business Development Officers to prepare comprehensive loan presentations and credit write-ups for management and loan committee review.
Support the Business Development Officer and Branch Manager in executing business plans and marketing strategies to achieve financial objectives and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) goals.
Manage and maintain assigned loan portfolios, ensuring complete and accurate documentation, annual renewals, and compliance with financial covenant requirements.
Monitor existing accounts for potential credit issues, problem loans, and suspicious activities, and administer corrective actions in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Promote and cross-sell the Bank’s products and services to deepen client relationships and enhance customer satisfaction.
Provide guidance, training, and support to junior lending staff and contribute to the development of the branch lending team.
Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by supervisors, Credit Administration, and Executive Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Finance is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in originating and underwriting commercial loans,
including commercial term loans, construction loans, line of credit, etc. and deposit
with a track record of business development.
Skills/Ability: Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, economic trend, loan origination with
business development skills. PC proficient in Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and
written communication skills are required. Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is preferred.
