Job summary

Zurich in Dallas seeks an Underwriter, Construction Casualty or Underwriting Specialist, Construction Casualty to join the Specialities Construction Casualty team. The role is based in our Dallas office with a hybrid schedule and a market-facing remit, requiring in-office presence with agents and brokers three days a week.

The right candidate will combine marketing and analytical skills with knowledge of buildings to underwrite new and renewal Construction business in the US, and travel 15-20%

Qualifications

• Strong marketing and analytical skills applied to underwriting.
• Knowledge of buildings and commercial Property policies preferred.
• Experience working with agents and brokers in a market-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.
• Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives and other business-related needs, as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and growth.
• Travel 15%-20% to meet with clients and partners.
• Be visible in the marketplace and collaborate with the team to win new business.

We are looking for a Underwriter, Construction Casualty or Underwriting Specialist, Construction Casualty to join our Specialities Construction Casualty team out of our Dallas office. While this position will be based out of our Dallas office, you will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. This role will require you to be visible in the marketplace to meet with our agents and brokers and be in the office/market three days per week.

As a Underwriter, Constrcution Casualty or Underwriting Specialist, Construction Casualty you will have a chance to use your marketing and analytical skills along with your knowledge of buildings to analyze and underwrite new and renewal Constrcution business both in the US. This is a market facing position and we are seeking someone with a strong sales execution mindset and knowledge of commercial Property policies. There will be 15%-20% travel for this position.

This role will be filled at either the Underwriter, Construction Casualty or Underwriting Specialist, Construction Casualty. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
