Job summary

MEM Insurance is seeking an Underwriter II to manage a dedicated book of business, applying workers' compensation underwriting guidelines and MEM’s rating framework to drive profitable growth and strong agency partnerships.

The role emphasizes collaboration with producers and policyholders, risk analysis, and mentoring teammates while upholding regulatory compliance and MEM’s service standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of workers' compensation underwriting experience or 3 years of property and casualty underwriting including workers' compensation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Insurance designations such as RWCS, AINS, AU, or CPCU are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an assigned book of business using MEM’s underwriting philosophy and guidelines.
• Evaluate, select, and price new and renewal business within authority.
• Analyze risk exposures and loss history using underwriting tools and forecasting.
• Collaborate with producers and policyholders to build consultative relationships.
• Communicate decisions clearly, ensuring regulatory and company standards alignment.
