Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking participants for its seven-week Underwriter Development Program in downtown Cincinnati, OH. This hands-on training blends mentorship with exposure to underwriting, claims, operations and product management, building a strong foundation for a career in commercial insurance.

During the program, you will develop technical, analytical and leadership skills while working closely with seasoned underwriters and leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.2 GPA and demonstrated leadership through internships and campus involvement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Use independent judgment to support business goals.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
• Analyze coverage requests, limits, and exposures to determine underwriting terms.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, rating methodologies, and applicable laws.
• Order and evaluate underwriting reports and loss history.
• Assess risk quality and recommend loss prevention actions.
• Price business in accordance with underwriting standards.
• Develop relationships with customers, agents, and colleagues.
• Complete training and professional development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
