Job summary

Ryan Specialty, LLC is seeking an experienced underwriter to partner with brokers and internal teams in the Financial Lines group. You will support underwriting goals, process quotes, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations, and prepare letters and policies for eRisk products.

The role emphasizes strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with Word, Excel, email, and web‑based systems to ensure accurate pricing and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 6+ years of relevant insurance or underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of cyber insurance and technology E&O products.
• Strong math skills for rating and analysis.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, email, and web‑based systems.

Responsibilities

• Broker and Market Support: work with brokers to market eRisk products and support underwriting goals.
• Underwriting and Policy Processing: rate, book, invoice, and issue policies for the eRisk department; prepare policy letters.
• Communication and Coordination: answer policy questions and resolve issues with brokers, producers, Accounting, and Marketing.
• Systems, Quality, and Documentation: print/upload documents; assist with quality review and system testing; continue professional development.
• Additional Duties: support product development and complete other tasks as assigned.

Position Summary

Ryan Financial Lines is a global platform of more than 70 teammates, including a deep bench of product experts and underwriters who work collaboratively to provide a robust and localized underwriting and claims operation for the financial lines market. What will your job entail?

Key Responsibilities

• Broker and Market Support Work with assigned brokers to market Ryan Specialty’s eRisk insurance products. Support underwriting goals, including production, profitability, and financial targets. Communicate broker feedback, market concerns, and new opportunities to leadership.
• Underwriting and Policy Processing Ensure all policy transactions—quotes, new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations—are rated, booked, invoiced, and issued accurately within service standards. Generate quote letters and binder letters for Cyber, Tech E&O, and related eRisk products. Prepare and issue policies for the eRisk department. Manage in‑force accounts and provide ongoing policy servicing.
• Communication and Coordination Communicate with brokers, producers, Accounting, and Marketing to answer policy questions and resolve issues. Obtain missing information needed to complete transactions. Contribute to excellent service by responding promptly to inquiries about policy status or underwriting needs.
• Systems, Quality, and Documentation Electronically print and upload documents into the imaging system, following labeling protocols. Assist with the quality review of underwriting processes, procedures, and transactions. Work with system support teams to test system releases and verify functionality in production environments. Continuously develop knowledge and skills related to underwriting and eRisk products.
• Additional Duties Support product development and enhancement efforts. Complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience and Education Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 6+ years of relevant insurance or underwriting experience, preferably with Cyber or Tech E&O products.
• Technical Skills Knowledge of cyber insurance and technology E&O products.
• Strong analytical abilities and high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and web‑based systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math skills for rating and analysis.

Salary & Compensation

The target salary range for this position is $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
