Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management & Insurance or related field preferred.
• Strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to navigate websites/databases; ability to analyze information and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Review applications for accuracy and completeness.
• Evaluate risks associated with applications and make preliminary assessments.
• Research carrier guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Interface with agents and insurance carriers to obtain information and quotes.
• Process and service new and renewal business in a timely manner.
• Network with current agents to build relationships and identify opportunities.

An Underwriter Assistant provides support to an Underwriter by reviewing applications, evaluating risk, creating quotes, and processing new and renewal business.
