What You'll Do

  • Lead with Insight: Analyze and assess risk for new and renewal employer group contracts across a diverse book of business - including multiple product types, funding arrangements, and rating methodologies.
  • Deliver Results: Prepare and present complex quotes and renewals with precision and confidence.
  • Own the Process: Use advanced underwriting tools and systems to produce accurate, timely deliverables that align with strategic goals.
  • Drive Strategy: Collaborate with sales, claims, and customer service teams to develop tailored underwriting strategies based on market trends and business objectives.
  • Mentor & Guide: Share your expertise by mentoring peers, reviewing work for accuracy, and identifying training opportunities.
  • Ensure Compliance: Conduct audits, track allowances, and ensure all financials are accurate and aligned with compliance standards.
  • Innovate & Improve: Lead or contribute to projects focused on automation, process improvement, and operational excellence.


What You Bring
  • Proven experience in underwriting with increasing levels of complexity.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Confidence in presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Passion for mentoring and continuous improvement.


Required qualifications:
  • 5-7 years underwriting experience (this is a must have)
  • Experience working independently and problem solving


Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in underwriting/accounting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements.
  • Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations.


Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$54,300.00 - $159,120.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
